BROCKTON, Mass. ---- The Massasoit men's basketball team picked up its seventh consecutive victory, topping the University of Connecticut at Avery Point, 72-50, in a wire-to-wire victory on Tuesday night.
Massasoit (7-3) started the year 0-3 and will look for this eight straight win on Saturday, when the Warriors host Quinsigamond at 3 PM.
Rael Handy (Easton) led Massasoit with a game-high 25 points, 18 coming in the first half, and finished with a quartet of 3-pointers. Jovani Harper-Lopez of Randolph added 16 points and Mark Georges of Avon chipped in with 14.
UCAP (3-7) finished with three players in double figures, led by Steve Fletcher's 14.
Massasoit raced out to a 12-2 lead and held a 41-20 cushion at the break.
