Late UCAP 3-Pointer Sinks Warriors in Overtime

BROCKTON, Mass. ---- University of Connecticut at Avery Point's Bobby Atkins drained a game-winning 3 with 9.2 seconds left in overtime to top the Massasoit men's basketball team, 76-73, in overtime on Saturday at the Asiaf Field House.

Atkins also sank a trey in the closing seconds of regulation to force the game into overtime, knotted at 68, with UCAP eventually winning to improve to 9-4 on the season. He finished with nine points, off a trio of 3-pointers.

The loss drops Massasoit to 8-5 overall and hosts Roxbury on Tuesday at 7 PM.

Jovani Harper-Lopez (Randolph) paced the Warriors with a career-high 21 points. The freshman buried five 3-pointers, three coming in the first half.

Mike Ward (Brockton) added 18 points, while newcomers Devante Davis (Everett) and Ian Wade (Brockton) added 11 and nine points, respectively.

The Warriors led 35-22 at the half.

Tyrell Martinez led the Pointers with 20 points, followed by Remy Bonser with 17 and Will Orr with 13.
