Dias’ Sharp Shooting Not Enough At Holyoke

HOLYOKE, Mass. ---- Sophomore Myles Dias (Carver) drained seven 3-pointers but Holyoke CC outscored the Massasoit men's basketball team by 20 in the second half to claim a 69-56 victory.

Dias finished with 25 points, including a blistering 7-for-9 from 3-point range. Six of his seven 3s came in the first half, as the Warriors (7-8) led 34-27 at the break.

The Warriors shot 13-of-27 in the first half and 7-of-12 from downtown to own a seven-point edge over the Cougars heading into the locker room.

In the second half, Massasoit struggled shooting the basketball, making just 6-of-24 shots overall and 3-of-16 from beyond the arc.

Joining Dias in double figures was Paul Bentley (Bloomfield, Conn.), who finished with 12. Nda Nnoli (Brockton) added eight points and six boards for the Warriors.

Marquiese Caudill of Holyoke led all scorers with 31 points on 13 of 18 shooting.

Massasoit travels to Roxbury on Thursday for a 7 p.m. tip.
