Men’s Hoops Falters In Second Half; Falls to Bristol, 90-67

FALL RIVER, Mass. ---- The Massasoit men's basketball team saw a close contest through the first 20 minutes of action slip away in the second half, falling to the road to Bristol CC, 90-67, at Bishop Connolly High School.

Bristol (7-6) led 44-39 at the break, before exploding in the second half, outscoring the Warriors (7-6) by 18 after intermission to earn the win. With the victory, the Bayhawks swept the season series with Massasoit.

Leland Jackson (Atlanta, Ga.) led Massasoit with 23 points on 11 of 24 shooting, marking his 10th 20-plus point outing of the season. He also grabbed seven boards.

Colin Campbell (Holbrook) netted 15 points, all in the second half, in the loss. M'Kenzi Ryan (Brockton) had a strong game in the post, finishing with six points and a career-high eight rebounds.

Myles Dias (Carver) and Paul Bentley (Bloomfield, Conn.) each chipped in with nine points apiece.

Bristol finished with four players in double figures, led by Jerell Gomes' game-high 25 points.

Massasoit returns to hardwood on Tuesday, hosting CCRI at 7 p.m.
