BROCKTON, Mass. ---- Sophomore Jahleel Moise (Brockton) was named the Massasoit Athletics' President's Award recipient for his excellence as a leader, role model and student-athlete for the Warriors this past year.

Moise was a rock for the Massasoit men's basketball team this past winter en route to earning All-Region XXI First Team accolades. The Brockton native served as team captain and was a coach on the floor thanks to his leadership and motivational spirit both verbally and by example.

"Jahleel is everything you want a student-athlete to be," Athletics Director Julie Mulvey said. "He leads in a variety of different ways and always appeared calm on the court. He was an excellent student-athlete for us and epitomizes how a captain is supposed to act. We wish Jahleel the best of luck as he transfers on."

For the year, the slam-dunking, shot-blocking sophomore averaged 12.2 points, 10.4 rebounds and 7.8 blocks per game while shooting a team-best 55.6 percent from the field.

Despite his size, at 6-foot-3 Moise posted the most total blocks (187) and blocks per game in all the NJCAA. He finished with six games of 10-plus blocks and recorded four triple-doubles on the season.

In the classroom, Moise has maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.26 and posted a 3.36 GPA this past spring. In addition, he was named to the Athletics Academic Honor Roll.
