Trey Jones & Jahleel Moise Named First Team All-Region XXI

BROCKTON, Mass. ---- Sophomores Trey Jones (Mattapan) and Jahleel Moise (Brockton) earned NJCAA Division II First Team All-Region XXI honors, announced by the regional office on Monday.

Jones produced a standout second season with the Warriors averaging 22.6 points, 4.7 assists, 3.5 rebounds and 2.9 steals per game. The shooting guard played in 22 of 23 games for the Warriors and scored in double figures in all 23 contests.

The 5-foot-9 sophomore's best performance came at Bunker Hill on Feb. 17, when he scored 31 of his career-high 40 points in the first half of a 95-68 win over the Bulldogs. In addition, Jones was named Division II NJCAA National Player of the Week back on Dec. 10, after averaging 27.7 points over a three-game stretch.

Jones finished 12th amongst NJCAA Division II student-athletes in scoring, 12th in 3-pointers per game (3.0) and seventh in steals per game.

Moise was a human highlight reel both on the offensive and defensive side of the court. The UMass-Boston transfer was a shot-blocking machine and nearly averaged a triple-double for the season.

For the year, the slam-dunking sophomore averaged 12.2 points, 10.4 rebounds and 7.8 blocks per game while shooting a team-best 55.6 percent from the field.

Despite his size, at 6-foot-3 Moise posted the most blocks per game in all the NJCAA. Moise averaged nearly four more blocks per game compared to the next closest shot blocker at the junior college level. He finished with six games of 10-plus blocks and recorded four triple-doubles on the season.

Moise netted a career-high 20 points on Dec. 2 in an upset victory against CCRI. In the game, Moise shot 9-of-12 from the floor.
