BROCKTON, Mass. ---- Trey Jones (Mattapan) poured in a team-high 27 points and Mike Ward (Brockton) netted a career-best 14, but a slow start proved to be the difference as Massasoit fell to Bristol CC, 84-65, on Thursday.

Massasoit (5-7) fell behind 13-0 to start the game and later by as much as 24 points – 35-11 – before pulling within 11 at the break, 42-31.

Ward, who finished 7-of-9 from the floor, scored the first bucket in the second half, but Bristol followed with a 7-0 run and never looked back for the victory.

Jones made 12-of-16 foul shots en route to his 27 points and added two steals. Jahleel Moise (Brockton) scored five points, grabbed 10 boards and swatted six shots in the loss.
