Green, Ferreira Named To All-Region XXI Team

BROCKTON, Mass. ---- Guard Chris Green (Taunton) and forward Antonio Ferreira (Stoughton), both freshmen, were named to the All-Region XXI First Team announced by league officials.

In his first year with the Warriors, Chris Green was a consistent scoring machine, averaging 21.5 points, 4.8 assists and 2.5 rebounds per game. The sharp shooter scored in double figures in all 22 games, and reached 30 points on two occasions.

Green finished a 46.7 percent shooter overall, 44.6 percent from 3-point range and made 76.9 percent of his free throw attempts. In addition, the Taunton native made at least one 3-pointer in every game and made four-or-more treys in a contest 12 times. He finished third nationally in 3-pointers made per game (3.6) and third overall in scoring average amongst all Region XXI players.

Ferreria provided a great inside-out presence for Massasoit, averaging 16.6 points and 7.6 rebounds en route to seven double-doubles.

In 21 games played, the forward reached double figures 18 times, including a career-high 26 points vs. UCAP back on Jan. 8. In addition, Ferreira scored 20-plus points in six games on the year.

Both Green and Ferreira will compete in Region XXI All-Star game, held on Wednesday at the Community College of Rhode Island.
