Sixth Inning Proves to be the Difference as Baseball Falls to Northern Essex

BROCKTON, Mass. ---- Massasoit trailed 2-1 entering the top of the sixth, before Northern Essex scored seven times to break the game open and defeat the Warrior baseball team 12-6 on Thursday afternoon.

Aidan O'Neill (Halifax) paced the Warrior offense going 2-for-5, scoring a run and knocking in another. Jonathan O'Donnell of Hull, Bobby Belezos of Holbrook and David Logan of Dedham all recorded one hit and one RBI in the loss.

On the mound, Francisco Navarro (Panama) pitched well through the first five innings of action, before NECC broke the game open. Prior the sixth, Navarro had allowed only one earned off two hits through five. The righty's record dropped to 2-4 on the season as he fanned eight and walked five in the loss.

In the sixth, NECC's Riley Magee hit a two-run homer to get things rolling for the seven-run inning.

James Sneyd of Scituate tossed 2.1 of hitless relief.

The Warriors (6-14, 2-4 R21) are off until Tuesday when they travel to CCRI for a 3:30 PM first pitch.
