Baseball Rolls Past Bunker Hill with Doubleheader Sweep

BROCKTON, Mass. ---- The Massasoit offense erupted for 31 runs off 27 hits to earn 15-5 and 16-5 victories against Bunker Hill at Columbo Field on Saturday.

Massasoit's Ian Nadeau of Brockton went a combined 5-for-8 with seven runs scored and five RBI to pace the offense and earned a victory on the mound in game one.

The two wins improved the Warriors to 6-10 overall and are 2-2 in league play.

Game 1: Massasoit 16, Bunker Hill 5 – 5 Innings
The Warriors exploded for 12 runs in the third inning which proved to be more than enough to earn the game one victory.

Nadeau went 3-for-4 with three runs scored and three RBI, while also improving to 3-1 on the mound by pitching five innings with eight strikeouts.

Aidan O'Neill of Halifax went a perfect 2-for-2 with four runs scored, Luke DiTondo (Marshfield) went 2-for-3 with a triple and two RBI as eight of the nine starters recorded at least one hit in the win.

Game 2: Massasoit 15, Bunker Hill 5 – 5 Innings
Francisco Navarro (Panama) collected a career-high 12 strikeouts and the Massasoit offense scored multiple runs in three of the first four frames to capture the doubleheader sweep.

Navarro went the distance, allowing only three runs in his five frames of work to go along with his 12 punchouts.

Offensively, all nine starters collected at least one hit, with Trey Woodward (Texas) going 3-for-4 to top the Warriors. David Logan (Dedham) went 2-for-4 with three RBI and Jonathan O'Donnell of Hull brought home three runs.

Richie Wood and Ian Nadeau, both from Brockton, went 2-for-4 with two RBI and Nadeau scored four times.
