Ian Nadeau Named NJCAA Pitcher of the Week

BROCKTON, Mass. ---- Freshman Ian Nadeau was named NJCAA Division III Pitcher of the Week for his efforts on the mound last week in a start vs NHTI.

The Brockton native fired a complete game one-hitter, fanning 10 and walking only to improve his record to 2-0 on the young season.

Nadeau allowed only two NHTI base runners all game, a walk in the second inning and a base hit with one out in the top of the seventh, spoiling his no-hit bid. From the second to seventh frames, the right-hander retired 16 in a row during that stretch.

His 10 strikeouts marked a career-high as he fanned at least one batter in six of his seven innings of work.

Nadeau becomes the first Massasoit baseball student-athlete to garner NJCAA POTW honors since Jake Stearns earned the honor back on April 14, 2016.
