FRANKLIN, Mass. ---- A rough first inning proved to be the difference as the Massasoit CC baseball team fell to Dean College, 12-2, in a six-inning affair.
Massasoit (7-15, 0-7) raced out to an early 1-0 lead thanks to a RBI single by Justin Martinho (Dighton) to plate leadoff hitter Al Carey (East Bridgewater).
The lead was short lived, as the Bulldogs roughed up the Warriors for eight runs in the bottom half of the opening frame to put the game out of reach early.
Dave Murphy (Plymouth) went 2-for-3 for the Warriors and scored a run, while Martinho knocked in two.
On the mound Liam Richmond (Quincy) suffered the loss for the Warriors.
Massasoit hosts Holyoke CC on Thursday at 3:30 p.m.
