NEWPORT, R.I. ---- Sophomore Brent Eaton fired a complete game, two-hit shut out and the Massasoit CC baseball team provided more than enough offense as the Warriors claimed a 16-0 road victory.

Eaton went the distance, giving up only a third inning double and seventh inning single. The righty posted a career-high nine strikeouts, walked two and hit a batter. He retired the side in order in four of his nine frames of work and struck out the side in the second.

Navy Prep threatened in the first, as Eaton walked a pair in the inning. However, the Kingston native induced a ground out to escape the threat.

The only other scoring chance for Navy Prep came in the seventh. With the bases loaded and one out, Eaton hummed in his ninth strikeout and forced a ground out to keep the shutout in tact.

Offensively, it was a much-needed explosion up and down the Warrior lineup. Massasoit pounded out a season-high 23 hits, as six players finished with multi-hit performances.

Al Carey (East Bridgewater), Dave Murphy (Plymouth) and Matt Levasseur (Milton) all roped four hits in the victory. Carey added two doubles and three RBI, while Murphy scored three times.
