VERO BEACH, Fla. ---- Kirkwood CC clubbed back-to-back homers in the bottom of the third to highlight a 10-0 victory against the Massasoit baseball team on Tuesday morning.
The Massasoit (0-7) lineup was held at bay in the shortened five-inning contest, totaling four singles in the contest.
Trailing 2-0 entering the top of the second, the Warriors produced their best opportunity to score. Three straight batters reached with two outs, thanks to a hit by pitch of Brandon Gallahue (Plymouth) followed by singles from Joe Commesso (Marshfield) and Jim Commesso (Monument Beach). However, Kirkwood induced a ground out to escape the threat.
From there, the Eagles tacked on three in the third and two more runs in both the fourth and fifth frames.
Joining the Commesso's with base hits were Gallahue and Tyler Morini (Plymouth).
Scott Anderson of Hanover (0-1) suffered the loss, working 3.1 innings with three strikeouts. Chris Langley (Holbrook) pitched 1.1 innings out of the Warrior bullpen.
