Iowa Lakes Bests Massasoit Baseball, 11-3

VERO BEACH, Fla. ---- The Massasoit baseball team fell to Iowa Lakes CC, 11-3, on Monday afternoon at the Historic Dodgertown Complex.

The Massasoit (0-6) defense struggled on Monday, committing a total of five errors in the loss.

Brent Eaton (Kingston) suffered the loss on the mound, working the first five innings. The righty gave up eight runs (six earned) off eight hits with five strikeouts. Corey Walker (North Attleboro) totaled five strikeouts over the last two innings of work on the bump, and allowed three runs.

Iowa Lakes struck first, pushing two runs across in the top half of the opening frame.

Massasoit answered back with a two-spot of its own as Michael Scibilio (Sagamore) and Sean Manning (Avon) both touched home.

Unfortunately for the Warriors, Iowa Lakes responded with four runs in the third and scored five more times over the following four innings.

Dave Murphy (Plymouth) knocked in a run for the Warriors in third to round out the scoring.
