VERO BEACH, Fla. ---- Things did not start off as head coach Tom Frizzell had envisioned during his annual Spring Training trip to begin the 2014 campaign for the Massasoit Community College baseball season. However, the Warriors closed out the Spring Break trip on a high note claiming four of their final five games at the Historic Dodgertown Complex before returning to Brockton.

"After a slow start (to the trip), the team finished strong," Frizzell said. "The competition was lights out down there playing some top notch programs from Canada in ABC (Academie Baseball Canada), IPA (Inside Pitch Academy) and Ontario Academy. The other junior college programs we played were also very talented and a great test for our kids."

Frizzell was obviously pleased with closing out the trip on the upswing in the win category, but he was even more impressed with the team's comradery on the road.

"I think the kids played well overall," Frizzell said. "They are a very tight knit, close group. Everyone seems to like each other and cheer each other on. As a coach that (comradery) is great to see, because it is sometimes hard to get everyone equal playing time."

Massasoit (4-5) had its first game back in New England rescheduled due to field conditions. The Warriors open up their league schedule on Friday, March 28 against UCAP at 3:30 p.m.
