Shelby Sprauge Earns NJCAA All-American Second Team Accolades

NJCAA Division III All-Americans

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. ---- Shelby Sprague (Stoughton) of the Massasoit women's soccer program earned NJCAA All-American Second Team accolades, announced by the national office on Monday.

Sprague produced an outstanding freshman campaign for the Warriors, posting 25 goals and four assists for a total of 54 points in 16 games. Her goal total finished fourth in the NJCAA Division III rankings and her point total placed fifth overall. For her efforts, Sprague became the first Massasoit women's soccer player to be named to the NJCAA All-American first or second team since Ginny Conway in 1991.

In fact, in the last 24 years, only three women's soccer players have garnered All-American honors, with Abby Higginbottom earning honorable mention accolades back in 2000.

In addition to her All-American honor, Sprague was named to the All-Region 21 First Team and was selected as a National Player of the Week three times.
