Sprague Donned NJCAA National Player Of The Week

BROCKTON, Mass. ---- Freshman Shelby Sprague (Stoughton) was recently named NJCAA Division III Women's Soccer National Player of the Week, announced by the National office.

Sprague has put together a fantastic freshman campaign for the Warriors, ranking second in the NJCAA Division III with 24 goals and third in points (51). Last week, the Stoughton native netted four goals as Massasoit posted a 2-1 record.

She started off the week in impressive fashion, posting a hat trick in a 7-0 victory over Springfield Tech. It marked Sprague's fourth game of three-or-more goals on the season. After the Warriors suffered a setback to CCRI midweek, Sprague netted the team's first goal in a 2-1 upset victory over Mercer County CC last Saturday.

For the week, Sprague finished with 15 shots, nine coming on goal and four finding the back of the net.

Sprague has now won three weekly awards on the season. In addition to her most recent NJCAA Player of the Week honor, Sprague is also a two-time National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Player of the Week winner in 2015.
