FRANKLIN, Mass. ---- Kayla Gomes (Halifax) netted her Region XXI best 20th goal of the season, but it was not enough as the Massasoit women's soccer team fell on the road to Dean College, 3-1, on Wednesday.
Massasoit (8-6-0, 6-4-0 Region XXI) fell behind 2-0 at the half to the host Bulldogs.
In the second half, Dean would tack on a third goal, before Gomes put the Warriors on the scoreboard on a pass from midfielder Gina Nutting (Rockland).
"I thought we had plenty of chances to score and we played right with Dean if not outplayed them overall," Massasoit head coach Jim Stapleton said. "We just had a few breakdowns defensively and could not finish like we can."
