Holyoke CC Edges Women’s Soccer, 2-0

BROCKTON, Mass. ---- The Massasoit Community College women's soccer team fell for the first time at home on Saturday, dropping a 2-0 decision to Holyoke CC.

Massasoit (4-2-0) is off until Wednesday, with a trip to Dean College. Game time is scheduled for 4 p.m.

The contest went to halftime knotted at 0-0, with each team having opportunities to score, but goalkeeper Kristin Reardon (Weymouth, Mass.) and the Warrior defense held strong. Reardon finished with three saves in net.

Unfortunately for Massasoit, after intermission HCC's Jessica Teodore netted a goal in the 65th minute and added an insurance goal in the 80th minute as Massasoit suffered just its second loss of the season.

"We played a really strong first half. Z (Zhandali Fontes) missed a goal by a couple of inches. We attacked really well and played hard in the first half," head coach Ruben Teixeira said. "In the second half we had a few defensive mistakes and let a HCC player be able to do too much with the ball in the midfield."
