NEWARK, N.J. ---- The Massasoit Community College women's soccer team fell behind 4-0 at halftime and could not recover, falling 6-1 on Sunday afternoon to Essex County CC.
The loss drops the Warriors to 5-7 overall on the season and Massasoit will play its home finale on Wednesday against Dean College. The match is set for 4 p.m.
The Warriors trailed 4-0 at halftime, but were able to get on the scoreboard in the second half on a goal from Katie Arnold (Weymouth).
"Despite what the score was at halftime, the team was positive and played with the most energy I have seen all year," head coach Ruben Teixeira said. "I was really proud of the team's overall effort and hopefully it translates into victories moving forward for the rest of the season."
