BOSTON ---- Melanie Thompson (Middleboro) netted a personal-best five goals, four in the first half, as the Massasoit Community College women's soccer team shutout Bunker Hill CC, 6-0.

Massasoit (5-3-0) also received a goal off a free kick from Ashley Westover (Stoughton) to sweep the season series with Bunker Hill. In addition Katie Arnold dished three assists, all to Thompson.

In goal, Kristin Reardon (Weymouth) made three saves to post her fifth shutout of the season.

Already leading 2-0, Thompson found the back of the net in the 41st and 44th minutes to take a 4-0 lead into halftime and put the match out of reach.

"In the first half, Melanie was outstanding up front for us. Katie Arnold (Weymouth) and Ashley Andrade (Randolph) were giving us some nice through balls to the forwards and we were able to take advantage of them," head coach Ruben Teixeira said. Overall it was a great team effort from our defense all the way up top to our forwards."
