Leszczyk Captures 300th Career Coaching Victory as Massasoit Defeats Bunker Hill

BROCKTON, Mass. ---- Head Coach Mark Leszczyk tallied his 300th career collegiate coaching victory as the Massasoit women's basketball team defeated Bunker Hill, 102-35, on Saturday afternoon at the Peter Asiaf Field House.

Massasoit, ranked No. 3 in the most recent NJCAA National Poll, stayed undefeated on the season at 4-0 in dominant fashion. The Warriors started off slow, but used a late spurt at the end of the first quarter through the second quarter to own a 48-15 lead at the half.

The Warriors outscored Bunker Hill, 21-2 in the second quarter alone as leading scorer Ty Hawkins netted 31 of her game-high 43 points in the opening half. In fact, Hawkins scored 22 points alone in the first quarter.

Shardajah Collins and Adrianna Grant each scored 19 points and Aliza Bell rounded out the double-digit scorers with 10 points.

As for Leszczyk, he owns an impressive 24-3 record guiding the women's basketball program in Brockton in just his second season with the Warriors.

Prior to coming to Massasoit, Leszczyk built a powerhouse program at Roxbury Community College, posting a 221-48 overall record with the Tigers, including the 2015-16 NJCAA National Championship. He coached three seasons at Dean College prior to RCC.

Massasoit returns to the hardwood on Monday at Quinsigamond.
