Warriors Surge Past Bristol in MCCAC Semis, 78-46

BROCKTON, Mass. ---- The Massasoit women's basketball team featured five players in double figures, led by a game-high 20 points from sophomore Geornaisha Silva-Moore as the Warriors defeated Bristol, 78-46, in the Massachusetts Community College Athletic Conference Semifinals on Wednesday night.

The Warriors (11-9) advance to the MCCAC Championship to face the top seed and the No. 3 nationally Roxbury Tigers on Sunday at 12 PM. The game will be held at Quinsigamond CC in Worcester, Mass., and will mark the third time in the last four years the schools will meet in the finals.

Leading 35-28 midway through the third quarter, Massasoit closed out the frame on 16-2 run to put the game out of reach. The Warriors outscored Bristol 51-28 after intermission.

Silva-Moore added seven boards and five steals to her 20 point total in the victory.

Fellow sophomore Tati Dias (Brockton) netted 16 and dished out five assists, while Monica Knight added 12 points and 15 rebounds for a double-double. Natascha Elias (13) and Sierra Johnson (12) also reached double figures.

Bristol was led offensively by Misha Edwards' 18 points.
