BROCKTON, Mass. ---- CCRI outscored the Massasoit women's basketball team 17-8 in the third quarter, which proved to be the difference as the Knights prevailed, 54-43 on Wednesday night at the Peter Asiaf Field House.
Massasoit (8-8) trailed CCRI (12-14), 22-21 at the break.
In a back-and-forth contest in the first half, the Knights pulled away in the third to own a double-digit lead entering the fourth, 39-29.
The Warriors would make a run, pulling back within a single possession at 44-41. However, CCRI closed out the game on a 10-2 spurt.
Sienna Johnson (11 points) and Geornaisha Silva-Moore (10 points), both from Brockton, paced the Massasoit offense.
Tiondra Hands and D'Asia Allen each tallied 14 points apiece for the Knights.
Massasoit hosts Springfield Tech on Saturday at 1 PM.
