CONCORD, N.H. ---- Geornaisha Silva-Moore (Brockton) posted a double-double and three players scored in double figures, but NHTI built up a 23-point first half cushion to defeat the Massasoit women's basketball team, 68-55 on Sunday.
The loss was the second in as many days for the Warriors at the NHTI Holiday Inn Tournament as Massasoit dropped to 4-8 on the season.
Silva-Moore netted 16 points and pulled down 15 boards for her first double-double of the season. Tatiana Dias (Brockton) scored 12 points and Natascha Elias (Brockton) chipped in with 11. Dias averaged 20 points per game for the two-day tournament.
Laura Malley (Halifax) posted her second 10-rebound performance in as many games in the loss.
Massasoit outrebounded NHTI (11-6) 41 to 35 and forced the Lynx into committing 27 turnovers. But, shooting proved to be the difference in the game, with NHTI making 42.9 percent (24 for 56) overall and 9 of 24 from 3-point range (37.5 percent), compared to Massasoit's 29.9 percent (23 for 77) overall and 11.5 percent on 3s (3 of 26).
NHTI led 43-20 at the half.
Massasoit outscored the Lynx 35-25 after intermission.
The Warriors return to court on Tuesday, hosting CCRI at 5 p.m.
