BROCKTON, Mass. ---- The Massasoit women's basketball team closed out the fall semester on a high note, defeating Great Bay CC, 54-32, on Saturday afternoon.

The Warriors used a balanced scoring attack as four players reached double figures in improving the team's record to 4-5 on the season

Geornaisha Silva-Moore (Brockton) led Massaoit with 15 points for the game. Natascha Elias and Tatiana Dias, both of Brockton, netted 12 a piece, while Laura Malley (Halifax) finished with 10.

Massasoit opened up game in dominant fashion, owning an 18-2 lead over the Herons after one quarter of action.

The Warriors led 28-11 at the break.

Great Bay started to inch closer in the third, but six big points from Malley in the quarter helped put the game out reach as the Warriors captured the 22 point victory.
