Lawson’s Jersey On Display At Women’s Basketball Hall Of Fame

BROCKTON, Mass. ---- Sophomore Fredi Lawson tallied up the awards and accolades in her lone season on the Massasoit Community College women's basketball team and she recently earned one more distinct honor.

A native of Boston, Lawson's jersey is currently on display at the Women's Basketball Hall of Fame in Knoxville, Tenn., for earning NJCAA All-American honors this past winter. The jersey was put on display during the ceremony for the Women's Basketball Hall of Fame Class of 2014, featuring: Lin Dunn, Michelle Edwards, Mimi Griffin, Yolanda Griffith, Jasmina Perazic and Charlotte West.

The power forward averaged 19.6 points and 12.2 rebounds per game, leading the Warriors to the MCCAC State Championship and Region XXI Championship. Lawson was a driving force that catapulted Massasoit to its first-ever NJCAA National Tournament appearance, where the Warriors finished ranked No. 8 in the nation.

Along with being named NJCAA All-American Second Team, Lawson also earned a spot on the All-Region XXI First Team and captured NJCAA Division III National Player of the Week.
