LINCOLN, R.I. ---- The Massasoit cross country team showed improvement during its second meet of the 2015 season, as the Warriors took part in the Tri-State Cross Country Invitational hosted by the Community College of Rhode Island on Saturday.

"I was pleased with our performances," head coach Matt Jordan said. "This course was much, much harder than the one at UMass-Dartmouth two weeks ago. I think our runners are getting a better feel for the pace they need to set throughout the race at this level."

Out of 101 runners on the women's side, Massasoit's Kerry O'Neil (Stoughton) placed 44th in the 5k race. She finished in a time of 22:30.83, with an average mile pace of 7:14.8.

For the men, James Sepulveda (Brockton/Southeastern Voc.) took 66th, while Zach Arnold (Plymouth/Plymouth South HS) finished 82nd out of 103 runners. Sepulveda clocked a time of 32:51.88 with 6:36.7 mile splits on the 8k course. Arnold went 34:50.71 with 7:00.6 splits.

Massasoit's next race is set for Saturday, Oct. 10 at Westfield State.
