NEW ORLEANS ---- The Massasoit track & field programs posted their highest ever rankings in the United States Track & Field Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) NJCAA Division III National Polls announced on Wednesday. The men are ranked 15th overall and the women sit 19th in the first week of the polls.

The men have totaled 100.03 points as a team through the USTFCCCA system in two meets, competing in the BSU Bears Invitational at Bridgewater State and the Jim Sheehan Memorial Invitational at Fitchburg State.

Individually, Aaron Prescott (Carver) tallied the most points on the men's side, totaling 32.54 in the shot put, discus and javelin. The freshman thrower fell just .06 meters short in the discus toss of the NJCAA National Cut in Massasoit's last meet. His throw of 33.66 meters is the sixth longest in the NJCAA DIII.

Mitch Vaughn (Kingston) who has qualified for Nationals in the high jump and 110-meter hurdles, accounted for 17 points, followed by his brother Nick Vaughn (Kingston) with 15.42 points from the 100m, 200m and shot put.

Also totaling double digits in points was Liam Brennan (Middleboro) finishing with 10.50 from the 110m hurdles and the long jump.

A total of 11 individuals along with the 4x100 relay team scored points for the Warriors for the men.

On the women's side, Karlyvelle Ladouceur (Winter Park, Fla.) and Deja Houston (Taunton) accounted for the team's total of 29.53 points to rank 19th nationally.

Ladouceur sports the eighth fastest time in the 100m dash to account for 17.63 of her 24.52 total points. Her additional 6.89 points came in the 200m.

Houston has totaled 5.01 points in three different events: 100m, 400m and the long jump.
