BROCKTON, Mass. ---- Leon Zaffonato (Brazil) and Charlie Swann (England) each scored second half goals, but the Massasoit men's soccer team came up on the short end of a 4-2 decision vs ASA College on Saturday.

The match was locked in a scoreless tie, as the Warriors came out with plenty of energy for the first 25 minutes of action, not having played a game in two weeks.

Unable to capitalize off a free kick just outside the box at the 15-minute mark, the score remained deadlocked until the 40th minute when the Avengers scored off a deflection to take the 1-0 lead. ASA took the 1-0 lead into the locker room at the half.

Just four minutes into the second stanza, Zaffonato would strike. The sophomore rocketed a shot that was saved by the Avenger keeper, but rolled right back to the Brazilian native where he touched it in to even the game.

The second half scoring spree continued as less than three minutes later, in the 52nd minute, ASA scored off a corner kick. The visiting Avengers tacked on goals off a penalty kick and rebound in front of the net to go up 4-1.

Swann scored off a through ball pass from Jonathan Carrere in the 73rd minute to round out the scoring for the afternoon.

Massasoit returns to the pitch on Tuesday to host rival CCRI.
