Six Warriors Named First Team All-Region 21

BROCKTON, Mass. ---- A total of six student-athletes off the Massasoit men's soccer team were named First Team All-Region 21, voted on by the league soccer committee members, as Leon Zaffonato, Bruno Martins, Camnagha Namusse, Ruben Almeida, Deivys D'Almeida and Ollie Dagraca earned the postseason recognition.

Zaffonato from Brazil produced a standout freshman campaign, seeing time at both forward and midfield for the Warriors. The lefty led the region in assists with 10 and finished second on the team in goals (10) and points (30).

Martins served as the central defender in his first season donning the Green and White. At 6-foot-5, Martins provided a presence in the defensive end for Massasoit as the Warriors, stating all 16 games. He finished with three goals and one assist.

Namusse, a two-year starting defender, was a natural leader for the Warriors, showing by example. Namusse made 30 career starts and was a part of two Region 21 Championships. He dished out four assists during his final season.

Almeida, another sophomore and two-time Region 21 champion, made the shift from defender to center midfield in year two. The sophomore scored three goals and had four assists. His most memorable goal was a header in the 80th minute to defeat CCRI on the road 4-3.

Another center midfielder to earn postseason recognition was D'Almeida. In his second year, D'Almeida was able to stay healthy and finish with six goals and seven assists. During his freshman year, the New Bedford native had a game for the ages in the Region 21 Championship, scoring twice and dishing out an assist in a 3-1 road victory at CCRI.

Rounding out the postseason honors is sophomore keeper Ollie Dagraca (Brockton). "Ollie the Goalie" appeared in 10 games, making nine stats in net for the Warriors. Dagraca made 41 saves for the season and was in goal for a pair of Region 21 titles.
