Cardoso Nets Four As Warriors Blow By MassBay Bucs, 7-0

BROCKTON, Mass. ---- Sophomore Sidney Cardoso (Portugal) netted four goals as the Massasoit men's soccer team blew past MassBay CC, 7-0, on a rainy Monday afternoon at Warrior Field.

Cardoso tied a career-high with the four goals scored and now has a total of 10 on the season for Massasoit (3-3-1).

Ienik Spencer (Pawtucket, R.I.) started the engine of the Warrior offense when the sophomore striker finished a pass from Cardoso in the 17th minute of action. Spencer tallied a pair of goals of his own in the victory.

Following Spencer's first goal, Cardoso would score twice prior to Edgar Lopez (Seekonk) joining the scoring spree. Another goal by Cardoso in the 39th minute gave the Warriors a comfortable 5-0 lead at intermission.

In the second half both Cardoso and Spencer scored to round out the 7-0 win.

Ollie Dagraca (Brockton) made four saves in net for the clean sheet as the Warrior keeper.

Adding assists in the victory included two from Flavio Rosario (Brockton) and one each from Nathan Estrela (Falmouth), Matt Moreira (Osterville) and Dawid Jalowiecki (Poland).

The Warriors return to the pitch on Wednesday with a road match at Bunker Hill.
