Massasoit Takes Ninth Place at NJCAA National Golf Tournament

CHAUTAUQUA, New York ---- The Massasoit Community College men's golf team's historic 2018 season closed out by capturing ninth place at the NJCAA Division III National Tournament hosted by Jamestown CC at Chautauqua Country Club.

The Warriors were led by Chris McMorrow's (Weymouth) school record four-day total of 325 (75+83+77+90=325) to finish tied for 34th individually. Fellow Weymouth native Chris Flipp finished 53rd overall at 340 (86+85+85+84=340).

Shawn McIsaac (Avon) finished third on the Warriors and placed tied for 56th overall at 344 (81+90+83+90=344), just edging teammate Jack DeCoste (Sandwich) who finished in 58th place at 345 (85+84+90+86+345).

McMorrow was tied with CCRI's Tyler Boisclair for top finish from Region 21.

Massasoit's ninth place finish marked the highest by a Region 21 team in the last five years as a total of 12 teams competed at the 2018 National Tournament.

Vincennes University CC captured the team national title, while Dan Lapp of Tompkins Cortland CC took first individually at +5 for the for the four-day tournament.
