Three-Pointers Not Enough as Men’s Basketball Falls at CCRI, 87-72

WARWICK, Rhode Island ---- The Massasoit men's basketball team fell into an early hole and despite making 16 3-pointers, could not climb out of it, dropping a road contest 87-72 at CCRI on Tuesday night at the Cullen Field House.

Massasoit (2-4, 2-4 R21) trailed 18-3 in the early goings of the game, before pulling within 10, 41-31, at the break.

In the second half, Massasoit would get as close as five points, but CCRI (6-2, 5-1 R21) expanded the lead back up to double digits and never looked back.

Four players reached double digits, led by sophomore Bobby Belezos (Holbrook) with 19 points.

Brockton's Jarice Harris sank six 3-pointers for 18 points, while Mark Georges (13 points) and Rollsky Edouard (11 points) also both reached double figures.

Massasoit hosts Roxbury on Thursday at 7:30 PM.
