NEW HAVEN, Conn. —— Mike Ward poured in 32 points as the Massasoit men's basketball team picked up a road victory on Saturday, topping Gateway CC, 68-60.
Leading just 28-26 at the break, Ward (Brockton) exploded for 22 points in the second half to improve the Warriors to 10-5 on the season. The win also marked the fifth in six games for the Warriors and they will host Holyoke CC on Sunday at Noon.
Saturday marked Ward's third 30-plus point performance on the season.
Jovani Harper-Lopez (Randolph) chipped in with 12 points and six assists. Ian Wade of Brockton knocked down a trio of 3s en route to 10 points.
The loss drops Gateway to 8-6 overall on the season.
