GROTON, Conn. ---- The Massasoit baseball team dropped a road contest at the University of Connecticut at Avery Point, 10-0, on Wednesday afternoon at Washington Park.

Massasoit (3-10) returns to the diamond on Thursday with a road contest at NHTI, slated to start at 3:30 PM.

Richie Wood (0-2) of Brockton suffered the loss, working the first four innings on the bump for the Warriors. The righty fanned two and walked two and allowed only two earned runs off five hits.

UCAP (6-9) broke the game open with a three spot in the bottom of the second and scored at least once in each of the next four innings to earn the victory.

Jose Santana of Marlborough doubled and Ian Nadeau of Brockton singled in the loss.
