CCRI Snaps Baseball’s Five-Game Win Streak

WARWICK, R.I. --- Bryan Dwyer (Abington) roped three hits and Alex Carey (East Bridgewater) clocked his third homer of the season, but CCRI built up an early lead to capture a 10-2 victory. The win snapped a five-game win streak for the Warriors.

Massasoit (12-13) hits the road this weekend, playing doubleheaders at Bridgton Academy (Saturday) and Southern Maine CC (Sunday).

Leading 1-0 after an inning of action, CCRI (13-9) put up a four-spot in the last of the second, chasing Massasoit starter Liam Richmond of Hingham (1-1) from the ball game.

Trailing 5-0, the Warriors put up a run in the top of the fourth when Carey hit his team-high third long ball of the season, a solo homer for the sophomore.

However, CCRI tacked on a run in the last of the fourth and three more in the sixth. Massasoit crossed home in the eighth, when Evan McSherry (Halifax) scored on an error.

Jack DeCoste (Sandwich) pitched well in relief for the Warriors, tossing two scoreless innings, allowing just two hits.
