PASS Program

The PASS program was developed to assist student-athletes with their academic progress throughout their tenure at Massasoit Community College.  It is the philosophy of the Athletic Department that academics should be the primary goal for every student-athlete. The program involves student-athletes, the Athletic Department, coaches, faculty and staff in addition to other resources on campus. It is designed to support student-athletes in achieving their short and long-term academic goals such as earning an Associate Degree and/or successfully transferring to a 4-year institution as well as maintaining their athletic eligibility.

As part of the program, Warrior PASS reports are distributed to the professors of all student-athletes three times a semester to monitor their progress towards successfully completing their courses. With the information provided by their professors, student-athletes can address any concerns and academic difficulties with the support of their coach and the athletic staff and other resources such as the Academic Resource Center on campus.  Student-athletes are also free to drop by the department on an individual basis for guidance and assistance.

Student responsibility is also emphasized. Each student-athlete must accept responsibility for attending all classes, completing all assignments and scheduling adequate study time. Student-athletes who make a sincere effort on both the playing field and in the classroom have a greater chance to reach their educational/career goals.
