Ben Warnick was named the Athletics Director at Massasoit Community College on March 23, 2020, after serving the previous six and a half years as the Assistant Athletics Director.

Prior to taking over Athletic Director duties, Warnick was in charge of all public relations efforts for the Warriors’ 11 athletic programs, along with assisting in game-day management, academic advising, compliance, travel and tracking student-athlete success at Massasoit. Duties also included overseeing all activities held with the Peter Asiaf Field House. 

In his first year at Massasoit, Warnick spearheaded a project with PrestoSports to provide a brand new website solely designed for Massasoit Athletics. He along with the assistance of PrestoSports launched the first-ever athletics site for the Warriors in August of 2014.

Warnick has also expanded Massasoit Athletics' social media platform, launching its first Twitter handle, @MassasoitSports, and Facebook page during the spring of 2016.

In addition, Warnick served as the college's first men’s and women’s track coach at Massasoit during the 2014 season. The Warriors competed in three meets during the inaugural season and totaled four individual top-25 performances. Warnick coached long distance runner Kerry O’Neil, who became the first Massasoit student-athlete to advance to the NJCAA National Championship in track and field, where she finished 14th in the 5,000-meter race. The women’s track team also earned the NJCAA Academic Team Award, for maintaining a team GPA above 3.0 for the 2013-14 season.

In the spring of 2017, Warnick served as interim skipper for the Warrior baseball team. Following a 1-6 spring break trip, Warnick along with Mike Croatti (golf coach) took over the team and turned the season around, winning 15 of 18 at one point to go 16-8 the rest of the season. Warnick saw six players earn All-Region 21 honors as Massasoit finished a game away from reaching the Region 21 Finals. 

Along with his duties at Massasoit, Warnick is very involved with the Region XXI Board of Directors. In August of 2015, he was selected to run the Service Bureau and maintain the website for Region XXI. He is also the chair of the baseball committee since 2018 and serves on the women's basketball committee. 

Warnick came to Massasoit after working two years at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) as an Assistant Media Relations Director. He served as the primary media contact for men's basketball during his second year in Birmingham along with covering baseball, volleyball, bowling and rifle over both seasons. He also aided the public relations efforts for the Blazer football program.

Prior to making the move to Birmingham, Warnick worked at Conference USA foe Marshall University, where he spent two years as a graduate assistant in the Sports Information Department. He was the primary contact for baseball and volleyball and assisted the media relations tasks for football and men’s and women’s basketball.

Warnick spent the 2007-08 academic year serving as an intern in the media relations department at Boston College. At BC, he performed SID duties for the baseball, swimming, tennis and volleyball programs. He also assisted with the promotion of current NFL quarterback Matt Ryan.

Other media relations experience for Warnick includes time with the Holyoke Giants of the New England Collegiate Baseball League (NECBL) and Colby-Sawyer College in New London, N.H. He has also assisted with the Conference USA Men’s Soccer Championship, the NCAA College Cup for two years and the BBVA Compass Bowl hosted in Birmingham.

Warnick earned a Master's of Science degree in Athletic Administration from Marshall University in 2011. In 2007, he received his Bachelor's of Science degree with a concentration in Sports Management and a minor in Business Administration from Colby-Sawyer.

A fierce competitor on the diamond for the CSC Chargers, Warnick was a four-year catcher on the baseball team for head coach Jim Broughton.

A native of South Deerfield, Mass., Warnick currently resides in Marshfield, Mass., with his wife Lauryn, son Mackson (1) and french bulldog Champ.
