In his first season in the City of Champions, Leszczyk led Massasoit to an overall record of 20-3 and saw the Warriors ranked No. 1 in the NJCAA National Poll for nine consecutive weeks, which featured a 13-game win streak to start the year.

Leszczyk's success on the court also translates to his players moving on to four-year institutions to continue both their academic and basketball careers. Prior to coming to Brockton, Leszczyk was the head coach at Roxbury CC, where he led a decade of dominance with the Tigers. During that span of success, Leszczyk coached the Tigers to six NJCAA National Championship appearances, making the finals on five occasions and winning the title in 2015-16. He also captured six Region 21 Championships, tallied seven seasons of 20-or-more victories and won over 80 percent of his games at Roxbury, posting a 221-48 overall record.

Leszczyk has coached 10 NJCAA All-Americans, two National Players of the Year and earned three National Coach of the Year awards. The first coaching accolade earned was the “Rawlings” National Coach of the Year in 2013 awarded to only one junior college coach in the country. He also garnered the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Coach of the Year award in 2015 and the NJCAA Division III Coach of the Year in 2016.

In addition, since 2012-13, Roxbury went an incredible 66-3 against Region 21 Division III opponents during the regular season under his watch.

Prior to his time at Roxbury, Leszczyk spent four years coaching at former NJCAA Division II member Dean College, three seasons as head coach, where he posted a record of 55-27.

A native of Providence, Rhode Island, Leszczyk served for four years in the U.S. Coast Guard after graduating from Johnson High School. In addition, he founded the Ocean State Pride Amateur Athletic program and is the Vice President of the NJCAA Women’s Basketball Coaches Association.
